Okay, he’s a little old, a little confused, a little chubby even, but William Shatner loves us. Of course, we’d prefer he called us by the right name, but why quibble with Captain Kirk?
Okay, actually Techcrunch is a big famous tech blog and we’re not, and what’s going on here is one of these weird modern web sorts of things, in this case the live autograph. If you visit their site, they’ll give you a kind of annoying audio spiel, a commercial even, but basically it works like this. You pick something at the site, send a message, and then someone you’ve selected gets an email, goes to the site and watches a celebrity sign your item and read the greeting. Or something like that.
So imagine having William Shatner wish one of your loved ones a happy birthday. What could be better?
